News from Morphamish - beaming down from Planet Anywhen

A lot has been happening on Planet Anywhen recently, and it’s looking to be very EXCITING TIMES ahead.  So let’s start this blog with a recap of the past few weeks, and a brief look into the misty future.

I had a blast playing The Decade Dance after party for my pals The Girobabies, fronted by the inimitable Mark McGhee, in December.  I’m a big fan so it was excellent to head over to Glasgow to catch them live for their 10th birthday party, and a fun set for me afterwards playing between Grace Clones (Southside Deluxe) and Jo D’Arc (The Girobabies, The Twistettes).  As well as being a luminary of the Glasgow underground music scene, Mark has created You Call That Radio?, a comedy and community podcast that’s gathering quite a following. I have the honour to work on the recordings, and it’s great fun to do.  The next episode features Darren Connell of BBC Scotland’s Scot Squat and is dropping very soon!

This month, the first ever Morphamish merch was created and a few designs with art by the awesome Alfie Dextrous of the Too Much Fun Club are now available in my Teemill store.  Teemill make organic cotton t-shirts with a low waste process in factories powered by renewable energy, and have a quick delivery time. I’m so pleased with the quality and the prints, and they come in plastic free packaging with a super funky design.  You can pick up your Morphamish t-shirt (or hoodie) here.

This month also saw the relaunch of Morphamail, the mailing list for Morphamish news.  With 2020 set to be a packed year of events and releases, Morphamail will be the best way to find out about what’s new on Planet Anywhen, so please do head on over and subscribe.  There will be giveaways, exclusives and news, and I hope you’ll enjoy getting all the goss.

The next big event coming up is ETC 45: The 8th Birthday Party, on Friday 31 January at The Mash House, Edinburgh.  The ETC crew have been working hard to make this event one of the best parties we’ve ever put on. We are looking forward to welcoming Chris Confusion and the fantastic Mrs Magoo to the decks.  The theme is Folk n’ Fairy Tales, so dress up for cheap entry. There will be stickers!!! (You can also search for a secret treasure, so make sure you know how to read QR codes with your phone!)

Finally, I’m looking forward to dropping a video collaboration with one of my friends, the incredibly talented textile artist Gemma Horobin.  Gemma is a complete pro, and the finished product(s!) are brilliant, I can’t wait to share! Keep an eye out on social media on 23 January at 17h to see it first.
