Morphamish makes free-form dance floor fire for the weird and wonderful. He’s had support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Crystal Distortion, Tom Robinson, Rob Da Bank, Vic Galloway, Kanji Kinetic, Warlock, DFRNT, No Yeah No, sci fi legend Warren Ellis and many more. He’s rocked festivals, raves and clubs across Scotland and the UK at fun places like Kelburn Castle and Knockengorroch.

In his music, there’s techno and dnb insistence along with a wide ranging palette of sounds and influences. He combines electronic and organic, mental and gentle, mutation and repetition, complex and simple, expectancy and resolving. His array of gizmos throw around big basslines, fun breakbeats, afro percussion, banging kicks, tweaking acid, lots of funkyness, multiple tempos and sweet sounds along with more heavy elements.

With friends Texture, Tickle and Harlequinade, he was co-founder of cult Edinburgh label Black Lantern. Morphamish is also co-founder and resident at Edinburgh underground techno institution ETC, founded in 2011 with Toxicologist (Unnecessary Surgery) and Alias23. Alongside his solo work, Morphamish has collaborated with Scottish artists including national Poetry Slam champ Texture (as Double Helix), Tryptamines (winning a worldwide IMA - Independent Music Award - for their ep Metropolis) and remixed Scottish favourites such as Banana Sessions, Jackal Trades and Stanley Odd. He’s also the producer for You Call That Radio, Glasgow based arts and comedy podcast.

Morphamish lives and works at his studio (Sound Sound) in Edinburgh as an audio engineer and producer. A busy release schedule lies ahead in 2021 for Morphamish on his own label Anywhen, with the first release of the year due in February.

“Now here’s a producer that treats music as Picasso did paintings. Morphamish’s works seem similarly varied in terms of both style and subject matter and he’s just as prolific. Then when it all goes cubist, his glitched up blends of fragmented bass music act like the Three Musicians packed in their gear for a sampler, synth and sequencer.”
